EPL: FA charges Maurizio Sarri over touchline brawl with Burnley bench

Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri was on Wednesday charged by the English Premier League (EPL) Football Association following his Monday’s touchline brawl with Burnley’s bench.

DAILY POST recalls that a number of individuals on Burnley’s bench repeatedly shouted ‘s*** Italian’ to Sarri.

The incident sparked a touchline brawl that marred Monday night’s Premier League 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Sarri was sent off by referee Kevin Friend and fourth official, Roger East, during the closing minutes of the match.

The Blues boss lost his cool with members of Sean Dyche’s backroom team following the insults.

However, Sarri, according to Mirror UK, has now been charged with misconduct by the FA.

Sarri has until Friday April 26, to respond to the charge.

“Maurizio Sarri has been charged with misconduct in relation to his behaviour in the 94th minute of Monday’s [22/04/2019] Premier League fixture between Chelsea and Burnley.

“The Chelsea manager has until 18:00 on Friday [26/04/2019] to provide a response,” read a statement from the FA.
