Bohemians vs Chelsea: Lampard fails to win first game in charge

Frank Lampard failed to win his first game in charge of Chelsea, after they were held to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday night, in a pre-season friendly.

The former England midfielder only took charge of the Blues last week, signing a five-year deal to replace Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge.

His first starting XI included outcasts like Danny Drinkwater and Michy Batshuayi.

And it was Batshuayi who got the goal for Chelsea, after just eight minutes in Dublin, lashing the ball home from close range.

Lampard’s men however failed to add to their tally and were punished in the 89th minute, as trialist Eric Molloy rammed past substitute keeper Jamie Cumming to finish off a sweeping move.
