Bayelsa Guber: Dankwambo reveals APC plans for Saturday election

Former Governor of Gombe State, Ibrahim Dankwambo has revealed alleged plans by All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of Saturday election in Bayelsa.

Electorates in Bayelsa State will on Saturday, go to the poll, to choose their governor for the next four years.

Dankwambo, speaking ahead of the election disclosed that APC is planning to cause violence in Bayelsa tomorrow.

According to him, APC plans to unleash violence to enable INEC declare Bayelsa election inconclusive.

Dankwambo revealed this on his official Twitter page.

The former governor wrote: “The APC are planning on unleashing violence on Bayelsans tomorrow so that INEC will declare the election as inconclusive or cancel the polls.”

Meanwhile, the Court of Appeal sitting in Port Harcourt has granted an ex-parte order of injunction restraining the Independent National Electoral Commission from disqualifying the Governorship candidate of APC in Bayelsa State elections holding tomorrow, the 16th of November, 2019.

The three-man appeal court panel led by Justice A.O Lukman-Sodipe also restrained INEC from executing the orders of the Federal High to remove the name and logo of the All Progressives Congress and its Governorship candidate, David Lyon from electoral materials.

Justice Sodipe in the ruling held that the panel abides by the decision made by an Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal which compelled INEC to maintain status quo from the 18th September 2019 when the matter was instituted, pending the determination of motion on notice for interlocutory injunction.

The Appeal Panel, thereafter, ordered that applicants serve all the respondents notices and other processes before adjourning till 21st of November for mention.
