Atiku, Saraki, Shehu Sani react as Super Falcons win AWCON 2018

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki has congratulated the Super Falcons of Nigeria for defeating the Bayana Bayana of South Africa in the 2018 edition of the Africa Women Cup of Nations.

The Nigerian representatives won this year’s competition 4-3 on penalties after Falcons goalkeeper, Tochukwu Oluehi saved South Africa’s final spot kick.

The Senate President, in his reaction, described the Super Falcons as ‘Champions of Africa’ following their victory.

On his official Twitter page, he wrote: “Champions of Africa! Congratulations to our Super Falcons who have made the nation proud again.

“Congratulations on your well-deserved victory.”

Similarly, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, took to his Twitter page to congratulate the Super Falcons of Nigeria over their victory.

In a tweet on Saturday, the former Vice President wrote: “Congratulations to the Super Falcons. Once again, Champions of Africa!”

Likewise, Shehu Sani, the Senator representing Kaduna Central, joined in congratulating the Super Falcons for their victory.

The Kaduna lawmaker took to his Twitter page to write: “Congratulations to the @NGSuper_Falcons for the AWCON victory.”

This is the ninth time the Falcons are winning the trophy and they have already qualified to represent Africa at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
