Youth wing of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Bauchi State has dared the state governor, Bala Mohammed, to disclose how much he paid as June salaries of state and local government workers.
Governor Mohammed of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defeated his predecessor, Mohammed Abubakar, of the APC in the last elections.
But during the campaigns, Governor Mohammed had accused Abubakar of siphoning N1.9 billion monthly during payment of salaries.
Addressing journalists yesterday in Bauchi, spokesman of the APC youth wing, Mukhtar Jibril said, “We did not forget his (governor’s) claims during his campaigns. Therefore, we urge him to tell the world the exact amount of money being used to pay state and local governments workers as monthly salaries.
“The new government has started paying salaries now. So, we need to know how much he is paying as salaries so that the people are aware if his claims are true or false,” he said.
