Adamawa CAN Chairman tests positive for coronavirus

The Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Adamawa State, Bishop Dami Mamza, has tested positive for coronavirus.

Bishop Dami, who is also the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Yola and member of the Adamawa State COVID-19 Containment Committee, disclosed his status to the media on Sunday.

He said in a press release that he had decided to go into total isolation and to take his treatment.

“One lesson that I want people to appreciate and understand is that everybody has to make himself available for testing if need be,” said the Bishop whose St Theresa Catholic Cathedral in Jimeta is the most famous church and easily the most populated in the Adamawa State capital, Yola.

Making the point that testing positive for the virus is not a death sentence, Bishop Dami urged people to pray for him and all others who tested positive for coronavirus.

He advised everyone to accept that the virus is real and to take all necessary precautions against it.
