Brazil on Friday surpassed Spain in the number of confirmed coronavirus death cases.
According to data released by Brazil’s Health Ministry on Friday, Brazil recorded 1,124 COVID-19 deaths and 26,928 cases in the last 24 hours.
The South American nation now has 27,878 coronavirus deaths, surpassing Spain’s record of 27,121 deaths as of Friday night.
Brazil has recorded a total of 465,166 confirmed COVID-19 cases so far.
They have the second-highest tally of coronavirus cases in the world, behind the United States (US) which has 1.7 million infections.
The U.S, Britain, Italy, and France currently lead the world in COVID-19 deaths.
