2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup: All African teams eliminated

Cameroon, the last African country standing at the 2019 Women’s World Cup, have been eliminated following a 3-0 defeat to England on Sunday.

The English ladies, who won all three group stage fixtures, completely dominated the Indomitable Lionesses.

Steph Houghton opened scoring from an indirect free-kick before Ellen White made it 2-0 late into added time in the first half.

Cameroon came out for the second half and pulled a goal back which was cancelled for offside before England sealed victory.

This result means that all three African representatives at the tournament have now quit the tournament.

Just yesterday, Nigeria lost 3-0 to Germany in a one-sided affair.
