World Best Goalkeeper: Ederson names only one player ahead of him

Manchester City goalkeeper, Ederson, has insisted that Liverpool’s Alisson is “one step ahead” of him and Barcelona’s Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.

According to him, Alisson was great in the Premier League for Jurgen Klopp’s side last season, adding that his fellow country teammate won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and the Copa America.

Ederson, Alisson and Ter Stegen were included in the final three-man shortlist for this year’s FIFA Best Men Goalkeeper award earlier this week.

“I think the three of us were the best, but I see Alisson one step ahead,” Ederson was quoted by Goal as saying.

“He was great in the Premier League, won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and had a great Copa America as well.

“So I think whoever wins will be deserving and I’m happy for two Brazilian goalkeepers to reach this level.”
