Transfer: Real Madrid top defender in shocking move to EPL giants

Real Madrid vice-captain, Marcelo, could leave the club for English Premier League giants, Arsenal, in this summer’s transfer window.

According to Diario Sport, Arsenal have made contact with Real Madrid over a possible deal for the 31-year-old.

The Spanish newspaper is reporting that the Brazil left wing-back wants to leave Zinedine Zidane’s side this summer.

Marcelo has drawn interests from Arsenal, AC Milan, Juventus and Paris Saint Germain in recent weeks.

The defender won 20 trophies including four Champions Leagues, after spending more than a decade at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Speaking on his future at Real Madrid recently, Marcelo said: “If I am on the list of players [Madrid] want to sell, then they can pay me up and all is sorted.

“I trust in myself, in my work, but if a day comes when Real Madrid do not want me, I’ll go. I will be sad, but I’ll go. But I am sure I will not be kicked out.”
