Transfer: Nigerian defender signs contract with Southampton

Nigerian defender, Oludare Olufunwa, has signed a contract extension with Southampton.

Southampton published the list of players retained by the club, notifying that Olufunwa has been offered a new one-year contract, Allnigeriasoccer reports.

The 17-year-old will remain at the Premier League club until June 2020.

The player joined the Saints in 2010 after he was spotted playing for a local club following a successful trial.

Southampton finished in sixteenth position on the Premier League table last season with 38 points from 39 games.
