Transfer: How Pepe’s agent responded to ‘Arsenal’s £70m bid for Lille winger’

Samir Khiat, the agent to Lille’s Nicolas Pepe, appears to have shot down reports that Arsenal made a £70million bid for the player.

There are rumours that the Ligue 1 club received a shock offer from the Gunners on Saturday.

Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, is desperate to sign a wide player this summer, with a bid for Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha already turned down.

Khiat has now appeared to troll the reports by saying: ‘Oh, really?’ when reacting to L’Equipe’s claim they had verified the transfer story with the player’s team.

Pepe is due to make a decision on his future in the coming weeks, after the Ivory Coast were knocked out of the Africa Cup of Nations.
