Saraki denies saying Buhari is last hope of common man, drumming support for President

The Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has reacted to a report making the rounds on Nigerian media that he described President Muhammadu Buhari as the last hope for the common man.

The report, which emerged after the President hosted the leadership of the National Assembly at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday, also quoted the Senate President to have urged Nigerians to support Buhari.

But Saraki, through his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Oluwole Onemola, described the report as fake.

Onemola also posted the original speech of the Senate President.

He quoted Saraki to have told Buhari that: “It is a great honour and previlege to breakfast with you.

“The National Assembly and the Executive must always put our national interest first.”
