Nigeria vs Libya: Rohr rates performances of Victor Moses’ replacement after 4-0 win

Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr has said that Bordeaux winger, Kalu Uche, needs to work a little harder if he wants to fully replace Chelsea star, Victor Moses in his squad.

Recall that Moses had announced his retirement from the Super Eagles, via his Instagram page two months ago.

Rohr spoke following his side’s 4-0 victory over Libya in the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifying game played on Saturday evening.

Three goals from Changchun Yatai striker, Odion Ighalo, and a goal from Kalu Uche, ensured that the Super Eagles took all 3 points in Uyo.

Rohr said Kalu, who played his first game for Nigeria against the North Africans, did very well, adding that there’s little work for him to do to replace Moses.

”Kalu did very well but sometimes he had a problem of integrating well into the team which is normal coming into a new team,” Rohr was quoted by Allnigeriasoccer as saying at post-match.

”He is playing better and better. He did very well. Playing in Nigeria for the first time in an important match like this he did well. I saw him play for Bordeaux and he’s was very good.

”There’s little more work for him to do in replacing Victor Moses. The door is still open for him to come back . If he’s fit, why not. Victor loves his fatherland that I know.”

Rohr’s side will travel to Tunisia to take on Libya in the return leg on Tuesday.
