Nigeria vs Algeria: Rohr sternly warns Super Eagles ahead of semi-final clash

Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has warned his players that they would have to be “cautious and clinical” when they take on Algeria on Sunday.

Nigeria will be facing the Desert Foxes in an Africa Cup of Nations semi-final at the Cairo International Stadium.

Rohr, speaking at a pre-match conference on Saturday, admitted that the North Africans have improved as the tournament reached its business end.

“Algeria have improved with each game and now are very balanced tactically.

“I trust my players and just as against South Africa and Cameroon I hope we can win. But we must be cautious and clinical with any chances we get,” Rohr said.

He also insisted that Nigeria don’t have an advantage over Algeria, despite playing their quarter-final tie a day earlier.

“Both teams have the same advantage inspite of the extra day rest we’ve had.

“The Algeria team have very good players with many playing in France.

“They’re a solid side and I have some friends there, but tomorrow will be about winning and I hope we can win,” he added.
