Nigeria vs Algeria: NFF takes decision on Rohr’s future as Super Eagles coach

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) wants to keep Gernot Rohr as the head coach of the Super Eagles, BBC Sport reports.

Although Rohr led the national team to the semi-final of the Africa Cup of Nations, where they lost 2-1 to Algeria, there have been calls for the German to be sacked.

The 66-year-old, however, says there is “no hurry” for him to make a decision on his future, as his focus is on the third-place playoff against Tunisia on Wednesday.

“There is no hurry because we want to finish third now. We will take a look at my overall results after the third place match.

“I’m still under contract for another year, so we will see what is decided together.

“There are positives for us to look at on this journey, but after this final game we can think and then talk about the future,” he said.

Rohr has one year left on his current contract.
