Lauretta Onochie: Senate right for rejecting such pedestrian person – Omokri

Former Presidential aid, Reno Omokri has expressed joy over the rejection of Lauretta Onochie, an aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, by the Nigerian senate.

DAILY POST reported that the senate had declined Lauretta Onochie’s nomination as a National Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In a report by the Senate Committee on INEC, Senator Kabir Gaya said her nomination breaches Federal Character principles.

Kabir Gaya cited Section 14 (1) 3 of the Constitution, stating that somebody was already a Commissioner from her zone, and the law remained clear about that.

INEC: Reactions trail Lauretta Onochie’s rejection by Senate

Reacting, Omokri via his Twitter page, said Senate made the best decision by dropping Lauretta Onochid.

“I commend the Senate for dropping Lauretta Onochie.

“I did not want to say anything while the process was ongoing, but by nominating such an odious and pedestrian person, Buhari showed that even the little tolerance we have for him is wasted. The man has no honour,” he said.
