LaLiga: Koeman reveals conversation with Laporta after Atletico Madrid beat Barcelona

Barcelona manager, Ronald Koeman, has revealed his conversation with the club’s president, Joan Laporta, following their 2-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in a LaLiga clash on Saturday.

Koeman said he had spoken with Laporta about his position at Camp Nou and believes more certainty about his future will help improve Barca.

According to him, Laporta told him that everything is perfect.

Barcelona lost to Atletico Madrid at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano following goals from Thomas Lemar and Luis Suarez

“It went well because before, there was no clarity,” said Koeman in his post-match press conference after the game.

“We [I and Laporta] spoke last night on the phone, then again this morning, about the club, the team, about me.

“Clarity is very important, for the confidence of the coach, for the players too, for them to know the coach is still here. We’re Barca, we still have to win games. This pressure is also normal.

“It exists for any coach, even more at Barca, but the president has spoken well, he has made his decision, as he said this afternoon, and everything is perfect.”

Barcelona’s next game is against Valencia on October 17.
