Kwara police launch manhunt for masterminds of ATM vandalization in Ilorin

The Kwara State Police Command has launched a manhunt for the perpetrators of Automated Teller machines (ATM) vandalization in Ilorin, the state capital few hours after an attack on one of the bank’s ATM machines at one of the banks in Ilorin today.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun, frowned at the ugly development and has vowed to stop at nothing in apprehending the perpetrators of the highly despicable act.

He appealed in a statement by his spokesman, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi in Ilorin Thursday, to public spirited individuals to volunteer information that could lead to the arrest of the hoodlums as no effort will be spared to see that this ugly trend is nipped at the bud.

“Recall there was a report received today that two ATM machines of a bank (name withheld) were vandalized by unknown hoodlums and an undisclosed amount of money carted away,while setting the machines ablaze,” the statement disclosed.

” Investigation is in progress, the perpetrators of the act will be fished out and be made to face the wrath of the law.”

The statement advised members of the public to go about their lawful endeavours without any fear,while business communities are to be rest assured that the safety of their lives and properties are not under threat whatsoever.
