Juventus vs Chelsea: Tuchel confirms four key players to miss Champions League tie

Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, will be without four key players for their trip to Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Tuchel confirmed during his press conference on Tuesday, that midfielder N’Golo Kante has contracted COVID-19.

Kante has been used sparingly so far this season following a groin injury and was restricted to two 45 minute appearances against Tottenham and Aston Villa.

The France international was also taken off during Saturday’s 1-0 defeat against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.

The 30-year-old will now miss tomorrow’s heavyweight clash against the Italian giants, as well as Saturday’s Premier League match against Southampton.

Tuchel will also be without Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount, as well as Reece James, who also looks set to miss the trip to St Mary’s with an ankle injury.

In light of Kante’s situation, Tuchel insisted he did not know what proportion of his squad is currently fully vaccinated.
