EPL: You’re boring, clueless – Sherwood blasts Arsenal

Former Arsenal star Tim Sherwood has branded the team and their manager, Mikel Arteta clueless and boring following their 0-0 draw with Brighton over the weekend.

He slammed the Spaniard for failing to be more flexible during Saturday’s Premier League game that saw Tottenham move above the Gunners in the table.

Before Saturday’s draw with Brighton Arsenal had gone on a three-game winning run in the league.

But they struggled to deal with Brighton’s high-pressing style of play and were lucky to come away from the Amex Stadium with a point.

And former Tottenham boss, Sherwood noted that the Gunners have no Plan B if their usual tactics of playing out from the back fails to work.

“Arsenal have no clue when to go long. They need to be more flexible in how they play,” he told Premier League Productions.

“They are hell-bent on playing out from the back – whereas they [Brighton] mix it up. They know when to play through and they know when to go long.

“It looked like that was after the Lord Mayor’s Show [for Arsenal]. That was the big game [Tottenham]. Now, we are back to the boring business and it looked boring.”
