Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked as Manchester United on Sunday barely 24 hours after the Red Devils were hammered 4-1 by lowly rated Watford.
Pochettino, a former Tottenham boss, is said to be the first choice of legendary gaffer, Sir Alex Ferguson to take over at Old Trafford and Manchester United hierarchy are said to have commenced talks with the Argentine.
Many names, including former Real Madrid boss, Zinedine Zidane, Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers, and Ajax manager, Erik ten Hag are being linked to the hot seat but it looks like Pochettino could be the man to take over the reins at Old Trafford.
But Spurs legend Keane believes that Pochettino would not abandon PSG where he has such talents as Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe for Manchester United, who, according to him, are living in their past glory.
Despite the history, the stature of the club, and the quality already at Old Trafford, Keane does not think he will want to swap Paris for Manchester.
Keane told Sky Sports, “Why would Pochettino leave Paris Saint-Germain at this present time?
“You’ve got Mbappe, you’ve got Neymar, you’ve got Messi, as Jamie [Redknapp] just eluded to two seconds ago, Man United are at a level they weren’t a few years ago where they were a top top team in this country.
“Still a massive club but in terms of where they are now in the last three or four years, they haven’t been the Man United that we’ve known for the last 15 to 20 years.
“Would he leave Paris Saint-Germain now to come to Man United?”
