Chelsea vs Man United: I’m surprised Michael Carrick benched ‘great’ Ronaldo – Roy Keane

Former Manchester United captain, Roy Keane, has expressed worries over Michael Carrick’s decision to keep Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench for their Premier League game against Chelsea.

According to Roy Keane, Ronaldo came back to the club for big games such as the one against Chelsea.

“I’m surprised. Ronaldo is one of the great players, but Carrick said he’s got a plan and he took it great,” Roy Keane ssid on Sky Sports.

Many United fans were surprised to find out that their legendary attacker will not be on the pitch when they face Chelsea on Sunday.

“But Ronaldo came back to Man United to play in these games. He’s a big player for the big occasions, his stats against Chelsea aren’t great, but it’s a big decision to leave him out,” Keane added.

“The problem for Manchester United is that they are so open,” he said.

“Looking at the teams, l would worry for United today – the back four in particular.”
