Champions League: Sterling reacts to Liverpool’s 4-0 win over Barcelona, singles out two players

Manchester City forward, Raheem Sterling has reacted to Liverpool’s 4-0 win over Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final second leg at Anfield.

He expressed delight with the performance of Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold as they set to play in the Champions League finals against Tottenham on June 1.

Liverpool lost 3-0 to Barcelona last week at the Nou Camp, but produced an incredible performance to beat Ernesto Valverde’s men 4-0 on Tuesday night making them qualify for the final of the Champions League.

Divock Origi and Gini Wijnaldum both scored twice, as Jurgen Klopp’s side made it to their second successive finals in the Champions League.

After picking up the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year award on Thursday night in England, Sterling said he was really happy for Jurgen Klopp’s side following their dramatic victory over Barcelona, adding that he was “buzzing”.

“I was really happy for Liverpool, I was buzzing,” Sterling was quoted by Mirror UK as saying.

“People might not believe me but it’s true. Seeing some of the boys like Hendo and Trent in the final makes me happy, I’m really happy for them.”
