Champions League: Lampard singles out one Chelsea player after 3-0 defeat to Bayern

Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, has hailed Mateo Kovacic’s performance, following their 3-0 defeat to Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.

Serge Gnabry scored a brace, while Robert Lewandowski also got on the scoresheet, as the Bundesliga champions ran riot at Stamford Bridge.

The win sealed Bayern’s place in the last-8 of the Champions League.

“I thought there were a couple of performances in our team, namely Kovacic, who played with a personality and a quality that makes you go, “okay, he can play in pretty much any team with that level”.

“Other than that we need to say tonight wasn’t a night where we showed that, and that’s on an individual to take responsibility,” Lampard told BT Sport after the game.

The return leg will be played at the Allianz Arena in three weeks time.
