Champions League: ‘I won’t deny’ – Messi names big favourites to win trophy

Paris Saint-Germain forward, Lionel Messi has insisted that he won’t deny that Mauricio Pochettino’s side are ‘big favourites’ to win the Champions League this season.

Messi said this ahead of PSG’s Champions League clash with Manchester City on Wednesday night at Etihad.

The Argentine captain, however, admitted that PSG needs to be strong in order to win the Champions League this season.

Last season, PSG were eliminated from the Champions League semi-final against Manchester City.

Chelsea eventually won the Champions League after beating Man City 1-0 in the final.

“Everyone says we are the big favourites [to win the Champions League this season],” Messi told MARCA.

“I won’t deny that we are one of the candidates, but we still need some things to be a really strong team.”
