Tinubu’s Government Committed to Eliminate Nigeria’s Security Challenges

President Bola Tinubu has pledged his government’s readiness to address and eliminate Nigeria’s security challenges. Speaking through Vice-President Kashim Shettima at the 2023 Nigerian Army Day Celebration and 160th Anniversary of the Nigerian Army, he assured Nigerians of his government’s commitment to national security.

President Tinubu assured that his administration would take all constitutional measures to ensure the safety of law-abiding citizens and the unity of the nation. He expressed his commitment to improve the welfare of the Nigerian Army and the entire Armed Forces, and to tackle issues related to equipment, funding, and other factors impeding their efficient operation.

The President has put in place a mechanism to comprehensively address the challenges facing the Armed Forces, enabling them to effectively perform their operations. He called on Nigerians to unite and shun actions that could divide the nation while commending the Nigerian Army and other security agencies for their joint efforts against Boko Haram and other threats.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Maj.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, affirmed that the Nigerian Army was fulfilling its constitutional role and contributing to domestic and global security. He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his consistent support.

The event was graced by high-ranking military officials, traditional leaders, and other dignitaries, showcasing the abilities and professionalism of the Nigerian Army, including a display of combat vehicles and equipment.
