Governor Mohammed Umaru-Bago of Niger State has strongly condemned the robbery attack on the cashier of the Emir of Minna, Ibrahim Sani, which took place at the Emir’s palace. The governor described the incident as the height of disregard for the traditional institution and highly unfortunate.
The statement was issued in Minna on Wednesday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim. Governor Bago assured that his administration would not condone such acts of crime and that security agents would do everything possible to apprehend those involved.
“This is highly unfortunate to have this kind of situation not just in the state capital but within the Emir’s Palace. My administration will not condone this act, as such security agents should do everything possible to arrest those involved in the criminal act,” the governor said.
Governor Bago charged security agencies to thoroughly investigate the incident and bring the criminals to justice. He extended his sympathies to the Emir of Minna, Alhaji Umar Farouk-Bahago, over the robbery attack and prayed for a quick recovery for the injured.
