Taraba APC Denies Allegations of Anti-Party Activity Against Senator-Elect David Jimkuta

On Monday, the Takum local government executive of the All Progressives Congress (APC) dismissed allegations of anti-party activity during the election against Taraba South Senator-Elect, David Jimkuta. Mijinyawa Salihu, the Takum LG Chairman of the party, addressed the press in Jalingo, the state capital, and declared the suspension of the Senator-Elect by a faction of the party at the LG level as invalid.

Salihu explained that they felt compelled to respond to the circulating false letter of expulsion to prevent misleading the public through social media. He emphatically stated, “We the Executive of APC, Takum local government of Taraba State have PASSED OUR VOTE OF CONFIDENCE on our Senator-Elect, Hon. David Jimkuta.”

The Takum LG Chairman also emphasized that Jimkuta had worked tirelessly to secure victory for the party in the recent governorship elections. Salihu added that reconciliation talks with aggrieved members of the party in Taraba South are underway and urged party supporters to remain calm.
