A High court sitting in Hadejia local government in Jigawa state on Friday sentenced thirty-eight-year-old man Abubakar Adamu to life imprisonment for raping a minor.
Justice Ado Yusif Birnin kudu said the convict was brought before the court for allegedly raping an 8-year-old pupil in Malam- Madori.
He said the accused Abubakar Adamu popularly known as Sabo committed the offense in Dunari quarters in Malam- Madori town.
He said the accused was proved guilty of committing the offense, which is contrary to section 282 of panel code.
Justice Yusuf said he was convicted under section 283 of the Penal Code Law as amended.
He said the court sentenced the convict to life imprisonment to serve as a deterrent to others with like him.
