A Resident of the area, Malam Sale told, DAILY POST that the incident happened on Friday at about 5:30 at Mandela, Zakirai Yamma, Kofar Gabas and Tsallakawa Quarters of Jigawa town.
He explained that the incident has rendered over 100 families homeless and properties worth millions of Naira were destroyed including furniture, foodstuffs, clothing, among others.
Sale added that many people including children were seriously injured by windstorm.
He also appealed to the governments and state emergency Agency to come to their rescue as most of the victims have already flee to other palaces in search for shelter.
The state command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps Public Relation Officer SC. Adamu Shehu confirmed the incident to DAILY POST.
