10-man Brazil defeat Peru to win 2019 Copa America

Brazil have won the 2019 Copa America, after they beat Peru 3-1 in Sunday’s final at the legendary Maracana Stadium.

The hosts opened scoring through Everton, before Jose Paolo Guerrero equalized from the spot.

However, Gabriel Jesus ensured Selecao went in ahead at the interval.

Jesus was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 70th minute, but Richarlison kept his composure from the spot with seconds left, to win it for Brazil.

Despite missing Neymar through injury, Tite’s men have been a formidable force in this tournament, scoring 10 goals without conceding.

It is the first time they have won the competition since 2007.
