The Kebbi State All Progressives Congress (APC), led by Abubakar Muhammad Kana, has suspended Alhaji Shehu Muhammed Koko, the current federal lawmaker representing Koko/Besse Maiyama federal constituency.
Koko, who also serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Airforce, was suspended by his party for alleged anti-party activities and inappropriate behavior, such as thuggery, which the party claims brings shame, disrepute, and division within the APC, potentially impacting the party’s success in the state.
Citing relevant sections of the amended 2022 APC constitution, the suspension letter states that Shehu Muhammed Koko must cease all party-related activities and refrain from identifying himself as a party member until the conclusion of ongoing investigations.
The suspension letter was signed by the state Chairman and confirmed by the state spokesperson of the party, Alhaji Isah Asalafy. At the time of reporting, the lawmaker could not be reached for comment.
