“Production, transportation, selling and offering narcotics are criminal offences,” he said.
According to Marwa, certain unpatriotic politicians utilised the youth as thugs in their election campaigns.
When a party is afraid of losing an election, they “give drugs to the youth to cause confusion and snatching of ballot papers among others,” he claimed.
The head of the NDLEA has urged parents and guardians to protect their children from being manipulated by unpatriotic politicians before, during, and after the upcoming election.
“We are in a political dispensation,” he added, and “some politicians use the youths to get what they want.” He urged people to collaborate on issues like stopping drug usage among young people.
