Fani-Kayode lamented that Buhari was replacing the outgoing IGP, Ibrahim Idris with Mohammed, who hails from the North.
In a tweet, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain dared “Buhari and his men” to accept the fact that Nigeria does not “begin and end in the North.”
According to Fani-Kayode: “Another northerner appointed as I-G of Police and another northerner earmarked to replace Onnoghen as CJN. When will Buhari and his men accept the fact that Nigeria does not begin and end in the north? When will he acknowledge the fact that southerners are human beings as well?”
DAILY POST had earlier reported that Buhari decorated Mohammed with his new rank as the IGP.
Mohammed had served as the Commissioner of Police in Enugu State.
He was one-time director of peacekeeping operations of the Force.
He is currently the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone Five, in Benin, Edo State.
Mohammed is also a directing staff member at the National Institute of policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, near Jos, Plateau State.
He was born on November 9, 1961 and enlisted in the police in 1986.
