Terrorists struck the Sabon Layi community in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Wednesday morning, killing 9 people, including 4 local vigilante members.
Residents reported that they had seen the terrorists patrolling the area on Tuesday, but no security forces were present to confront them. A BBC Hausa report on Wednesday noted that numerous locals were kidnapped, and the terrorists had rustled livestock belonging to the residents.
While the Kaduna State Ministry of Internal Security is still gathering information about the incident, military jets have been deployed to the community to prevent further attacks.
