Asiwaju Tinubu said that the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) shouldn’t be a problem for the people of the state because winning and losing make democracy great.
He also said that everyone in the state, whether born there or not, has the right to vote for the candidate they want.
The APC presidential candidate also said that, as a Democrat, he has to accept the results of any election, no matter how good or bad they are.
In a statement released by the Presidential Campaign Council on Monday and signed by the Director of Media and Publicity, Mr Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu said that he was apprehensive about reports of violence in some parts of the state, especially attacks on Igbo traders.
The former governor of Lagos State said that violence against people of any ethnic group in Lagos was wrong.
“The fact that the APC narrowly lost Lagos State to another party should not be the reason for violence. As a democrat, you win some; you lose some.
“We must allow the process to continue unhindered across the country while we maintain peace and decorum,” the statement said.
