Alonge, Tofowomo win PDP senatorial tickets in Ondo North, South

Senatorial candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ondo North and Ondo South senatorial districts area of Ondo State in the 2019 general elections have emerged.

The candidates emerged during the primaries, conducted across the designated venues of the senatorial districts of the state.

In the Northern Senatorial District, which comprised six local government areas of Akoko North West, Akoko North East, Akoko South West, Akoko South East, Ose and Owo local government, where three aspirants contested for the party’s ticket, Segun Philips-Alonge (Akoko North West local government) was announced the winner with 339 votes ahead of his closest rival, Tokunbo Modupe (Ose local government) who pulled 280 votes and Saka Lawal (Akoko North West local government) with a total of 98 votes.

The exercise, which was also contested by three aspirants in Ondo South Senatorial District, saw the emergence of the former Commissioner for Transport in the state, Nicholas Tofowomo (Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo local government) as the winner with 241 with Engr. Ademulegun pulling 227 votes which was followed by the former Commissioner for Environment, Sola Ebiseni (Ilaje local government) with 177 votes
