NANS president, COMRADE DANIELSON BAMIDELE AKPAN DEPARTS NIGERIA FOR LIBERIA

 

President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Danielson Bamidele Akpan, GCNS will next week, depart Nigeria for Monrovia, Liberia’s capital, his Media Aide, Comr. Isioma Ogochukwu said in a statement on Friday.

 

According to Ogochukwu, Comrade Bamidele will be attending the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected officials of the Liberia National Students’ Union (LINSU), at the instance of the newly elected President, Mohammed Kamara and Secretary General, Issac Muapoh.

 

The inauguration ceremony is slated for Friday, November 9, 2018 at the Centennial Pavilion on Ashmun street, Monrovia, Liberia.

 

The Liberia National Students’ Union (LINSU) was established by an act of legislature on January 25, 1957 to serve as the biggest students-based advocacy institution responsible to co-ordinate activities of all students in Liberia and seek legal redress when their rights are trampled on.

 

In honouring the invitation, the NANS President will be leading a high-powered 10-man delegation to Monrovia for the said inauguration.

 

Consequently, the Vice President (National Affairs), Comr. Chidi Ilogebe will act in the capacity of Acting President, while the President of the Senate, Sen. Gambo Abubakar Mohammed and Secretary General, Comr. Umar Yusuf Farouk are on ground for any challenge or necessary action(s).

 

While in Liberia, the NANS President shall have an interactive session with the President of Liberia, H.E. George Weah, and the Nigerian Consulate in Liberia. In addition, Comr. Bamidele will visit historic and tourism centres across the country, and grant international press interviews.
