What Dembele must do to succeed at Barcelona – Xavi Hernandez

Barcelona Legend, Xavi Hernandez, has advised the club forward, Ousmane Dembele, on what he should do to succeed at the Catalan club.

Dembele, who joined Barcelona from Dortmund in last winter transfer market has been struggling to fit into the La Liga leaders’ style of play.

Xavi, however, said one of the way the French international will succeed at Barca is for him to learn how to think faster when playing for the Spanish giants.

“Dembele will need time. Barca is ultimate test for a football player. Not everyone can play at the Club. Why? Because you need to be able to do 3 more stuff than anywhere else. Dembele has a lot of talent,” Xavi told SoFoot

“He needs to learn how to think faster. It’s mental. He needs to tell himself ‘I’m a Barca player. You need to be strong mentally.

“There are average players who spent 15 years at Barca because they had the mental. And some excellent players who didn’t last because the pressure ate them.

“Mental strength stabilizes your performance. It makes you stronger. When it matters for example Marcelo, Modric or Sergio Ramos are there. Lucas Vasquez against PSG? He went to the pitch and fought. He’s just strong mentally,” he added.
