Nigeria’s U-20 female football team, Falconets on Thursday, defeated Haiti 1 – 0 in their second game in the ongoing FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in France.

Rahseedat Ajibade’s 36thminute goal from the spot kept the Nigeria’s hope alive in the match played in Stade de Marville.

The Falconets are now second on the group table behind Germany, who had already qualified for the next round after defeating Chinaearlier in the day.

Germany had on Monday defeated the Christopher Danjuma-led team 1 – 0 in their opening group game.

Their next game is against China, which would determine their stay in the competition.
