Transfer news: Chelsea to unveil second signing on Monday

Chelsea have completed the signing of Roma full-back, Emerson Palmieri.

The defender will be unveiled on Monday.

The full-back has been on the verge of joining Antonio Conte’s side for several weeks, but it now seems the deal is finally done.

The Blues attempted to secure a deal that included Emerson and striker Edin Dzeko from the club.

A £44million double deal for the pair did seem to be almost through before Dzeko’s contract demands stalled the move.

But Italian newpaper, Gazzetta dello Sport now claims Chelsea have reached an agreement with Roma and that Emerson will be unveiled as their player in less than 24hrs.

The agreement for Emerson was reached on Thursday after it became clear any deal for Dzeko would drag on into next week.

Roma have received a £18million bid with around £4m in add-ons for Emerson.

Emerson will become Chelsea’s second signing of the January window.
