Transfer: Manchester United make shock move for Diego Godin

Manchester United have made a last-minute approach to sign Atletico Madrid defender, Diego Godin.

Manager Jose Mourinho is desperate to sign an accomplished centre-back before the summer transfer window closes later today.

United’s bid for Harry Maguire, Toby Alderweireld, Jerome Boateng and Yerry Mina have all failed.

Atleti’s Godin has now emerged as target for the Premier League giants.

Sky Sports claims that United have made a move for Godin and are chasing a deal for the 32-year-old.

Godin is considered one of the finest defenders on the planet.

The newspaper also claimed United have contacted Atletico, with Mourinho determined to bring in one more signing.
