Transfer: Courtois snubs Sarri talks, tries to force Real Madrid move

Thibaut Courtois has attempted to force his Chelsea exit by going AWOL on the eve of the new season.

The Belgian stayed away from training on Monday, when new manager Maurizio Sarri had planned to hold face-to-face talks with him.

Courtois, according to the UK Telegraph, is attempting to force through a transfer to Real Madrid.

Real have bid £35million for Courtois and the Belgian’s agent Christophe Henrotay last week called on the club to let him go.

His exit will leave Chelsea with three days to sign a replacement, with Stoke City’s Jack Butland and Sevilla’s Sergio Rico on their shortlist.
