Another Chelsea defender has left the club on loan to Bristol City.

Bristol City announced the signing of left-back Jay Dasilva on a season-long loan from Chelsea on Thursday.

The 20-year-old has yet to play a game for the first team and spent time on loan at Charlton Athletic in 2017 and the whole of last season.

”I am very excited about what Jay will bring to the squad. He has already achieved a lot for such a young player and we
believe in his ability to step up again in what is a tough and increasingly competitive league,” Bristol City head coach Lee Johnson told the club’s official website.

Dasilva became a Chelsea player in 2012 having joined from Luton Town and has won the FA Youth Cup three times with the U18 team.

At international level, he played for England U16, U17 and U18 teams, and captained the Young Lions at the 2017 UEFA European Under-19 Championship.

He is the eighth player signed by Bristol City in the summer transfer window.
