Ronald Koeman is under pressure at the Nou Camp following a poor run of results.
A 3-0 defeat to Benfica in the Champions League on Wednesday night, left Barca bottom of Group E without a point, or even a goal to their name after two matches.
The team, however, remains unbeaten in LaLiga but sit in sixth place, having been held by the likes of Granada and Cadiz.
Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, is reportedly considering the likes of River Plate boss Marcelo Gallardo, who has replaced club legend Xavi, currently the head coach of Al Sadd, as the frontrunner.
Suarez who left the Catalan club last summer having been deemed surplus to requirements by Koeman has advised Xavi not to take the job.
He told Sport: “At Barca, there is a war that hurts the players.
“I personally recommend Xavi to wait. This is not the ideal time to get to the club. He’s smart he has to wait a moment.”
