Teacher lures two students with N50, rapes them

A Kano teacher, Ali Muhammad was on Thursday tried before a Senior Magistrate court 49 sitting in Gyadi-Gyadi for allegedly defiling two of his students, Sulaiman Umar and Bashir Yahaya.

The teacher who resides at Mariri quarters in Kano metropolis was reported to have lured the students into his room, gave them N50 and raped them one after the other.

The case was reported to the Kano state Hisbah Board sometime in 2017 by parents of the victims.

The teacher was charged with unnatural offense contrary to Section 284 of the penal code law.

According to the First Information Report (FIR) by the parents, the accused person lured the two students into his room at Marini and forcefully slept with them one after the other.

The charge sheet added that the accused after he satisfied himself, gave each student N50.

When the FIR was read, the accused person pleaded guilty to the one-count charge leveled against him.

The Prosecution Officer, Sergeant Shehu Adam in view of his admission begged the court to adjourn the case to enable police complete its investigation.

In his ruling, the presiding Judge, Senior Magistrate Hadiza Abdurrahman ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case to February 15, 2018 for mention.
