Six dead, others injured as APC congress turns bloody in Otukpo

No fewer than six persons were feared killed and several others injured after fight broke out during the All Progressives Congress, APC, Benue South caucus meeting in Otukpo on Friday.

DAILY POST gathered that during the meeting, fight broke out between some boys believed to be loyal to the current chairman of the party in the state and a senatorial aspirant, leading to the death six persons, including one Pastor Sam and several other persons badly injured.

At the moment, Sabon Gari area of Otukpo is currently on fire.

However, when DAILY POST reached the party’s Director of Publicity, Apeh Peter, he was rather not forthcoming with words.

He simply said, “You cannot say what happened was because of the chairman. In fact, Ameh, let me talk to you after now,” before he quickly ended the call.

Speaking on the development, the Otukpo Divisional Police Officer, Mr Obo Ukam Obo, said the police were aware of the meeting scheduled for Double K Resort and were shocked that some persons decided to forment trouble.

Mr. Obo said the Division had commenced investigation and that those found wanting will be apprehended and prosecuted.
