Shehu Sani reveals what he did after Senate mace was snatched

The Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has reacted to the snatching of the mace from the upper legislative chambers.

Thugs suspected to be loyal to the suspended Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial district, Ovie Omo-Agege, on Wednesday, invaded the red chambers and forcefully took away the mace.

They stormed the chambers when plenary was going on, thereby creating serious confusion and tension.

Shortly after, the lawmakers resumed sitting as they vowed never to be intimidated while carrying out the constitutional duties for which they were voted.

In his reaction, Senator Sani tweeted via @ShehuSani, “The senate invaded. Mace taken away, and deliberations on whether to adjourned or not.

“I and others insisted that the senate must not adjourn. I removed my waist belt and lay to serve as a mace for us to continue, my colleagues.”
