Shagaya’s demise: Lalong mourns late General

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has described the death of General John Shagaya (Rtd) as a painful reality that the State will live to contend with.

Lalong in a press statement signed by his Director, Press & Public Affairs, Emmanuel Nanle in Jos on Monday lamented the death.

The statement reads, “The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong has received with a grief stricken heart, the news of the demised of Distinguished Sen. General John Nanzip Shagaya (Rtd), which sad event occurred as a result of a fatal motor accident, on his way back from his home town in Langtang North Local Government on Sunday, the 11th of February, 2018.

The Governor said the vacuum his demise has created in the top Advisory echelon, “will rub the State and nation of the wealth of his experience garnered over the years of his meritorious professional military, public service and business career.

The statement extends the Governor’s deepest condolences and assurances of prayers for God’s comforting grace to the Shagaya’s family, the Taroh nation and the many friends and associates of the Late General.
